Device Brokers Make Revenue
With the huge proliferation of Mobile
Devices and Mobile Cloud Computing...the Enterprises-Corporates we work with are now putting thousands of VALUABLE Mobile
Devices onto the IT Asset Disposal pipeline.
For example, Hertz Intl in New York just released 1,183 business Laptops
from HP...onto the IT Asset Disposal Off-Load channel.
These are like new devices - used by their employees only for 122 days. They have embedded 4G Broadband modem, 4GB
Ram, quad core CPU, optical drive; 7500 rpm 2TB hard drive...Windows Professional 7.....wifi
802.11 n.....17.6 wide screen...and Bluetooth.
These devices are available to our Brokers for $38 each...on Amazon and eBay the same models sell for
$198 to $337 every day. So there is lots of room for profits....but the new Broker has to realize that the units can only
be acquired by lot-batches of (usually) minimum 110 to 127.
The units have their hard drives scrubbed...then a new version of the op sys is installed....and
usually the basic set of business applications.
We have found - without a doubt - that our most successful Brokers make the most money by performing
FACE-TO-FACE sales...that is, at swap meets, flea markets, and by the Broker placing small cheap ads in the local newspaper....this
is much easier and BETTER than selling on the web....because...we show how, once you make a face-to-face sale, you gain a
long term repeat client.

Another category of laptop is the
ULTRAPORTABLE, a laptop that's 4.0 lbs or under…very light!. They are perfect for
students, outside salespeople, as well as anyone else wanting a laptop that is easy to use and carry.
WHAT MR. CALLEY PIERCE MORGAN, OF NAPLES, FLORIDA, A MOBILE DEVICE BROKER FOR TWO YEARS, AND NOW MAKING $155K PER YEAR, SAYS:
When I started as a Mobile Device Broker, I was editing
videos (see below image - last century "editing" studio.)
for a living, but making very little money. I was always inside an office and
I wanted to work outside. I investigated ultraportable laptops, thinking I could "transport" my 'cool' videos to
the buyers I was working with. I did this, sold a couple dozen of these types of laptops within two weeks, and got more from
the off-load divisions I was working with.
This was fairly successful for
me, and after I let my circle of acquaintances (within the video editing and similar work groups) know that I was Certified
to get NEW factory off-loaded ULTRAPORTABLES, at a very low price, a few of them came to me to acquire these.
After a couple months I was selling these ULTRAPORTABLES nationwide! I continue to specialize in these types
of laptops. I tried other categories such as desktop replacements, gaming laptops, rugged (outdoor) laptops…none worked
as well for me as the light models. By the way, I now am full time performing laptop liquidations…and
doing very well…….even in this terrible economy!"
there are a number of other laptop brands for the Registered Mobile Pro to acquire/liquidate to his/her various "types"
of buyers; these laptops are:
of these brands has strengths and weaknesses. However, one thing that is not generally known is that the components for all
of these brands ARE MANUFACTURED BY A VERY FEW MANUFACTURERS IN THE WORLD. ABOUT TWELVE (FACTORING IN THE 2ND
AND 3RD TIER MFGRS THAT YOU – AS A REGISTERED MOBILE BROKER WILL BE WORKING WITH ) MANUFACTURERS MAKE ALL OF THE WORLD'S
LAPTOPS. (they're all basically the same, inside - see below image)
guess what? They're all made in mainland China! The laptops/components are assembled and then shipped to the distribution
points. Of course, the 100% operational/functional units (but with slight factory assembly line induced cosmetic flaws,
irregularities, imperfections) are tested very thoroughly, then shipped to the off-load divisions that you'll be acquiring
(by the way…most all have their corp. offices, headquarters
couple to a few in Hong Kong
For example, DFGRT Ghioussou Ltd, a mfgr that's working with us (and you, after your
Registration) has its laptops assembled and shipped to its distribution points. The laptops that are slightly cosmetically
flawed (small pigment off-sets, indentations, scratches, mars, insufficient glossy outer layer, etc) are shipped to the off-load
divisions in Canada, some in the USA….Wyoming, Nebraska, and Florida.
Laptop vs. Desktop
Way back in June 2005
for the first time, Laptop sales were higher than desktop sales. Now, laptop sales, and sales of portable computing devices,
such as: mini notebooks, PDAs, and hotspot devices.....
PMP (portable media players), netbooks [means the same as mini notebooks] GPS
devices, and smartphones are "exploding! " Even with the terrible US economy…so it will behoove you
to really understand all these factors…as once you're "up 'n running" with your laptop distribution business,
you'll be around for many years doing this…it will not "go away."
Storage, and other laptop features
Typically, laptops, and in particular ultraportable laptops, have
smaller hard drives and less storage capacity than desktop computers. The ultraportables also have fewer USB ports, as well
as other input-output ports. But, as we are seeing from many of our Brokers & Liq. Pros, Ultraportables are gaining speed
in their sales volumes.
As laptops are used more and more, storage
space becomes increasingly important. Additional storage space is critical, not only because data is important but because
programs themselves are increasing in size. Microsoft Windows Vista is much larger than Microsoft Windows XP.
One solution is to use a portable hard drive. These are EXTERNAL DRIVES (see image below) usually
attached by a USB port. Portable hard drives have become much smaller in the last two years, with 500 GB of capacity not uncommon.
Not only do these portable hard drives serve to increase storage capacity, but they also provide an easy way to transport
data from one computer to another. They can be moved to any computer that has a USB port. These drives can also serve as backup
units for the laptop, and provide protection for critical data.
Before you start liquidating off-loaded laptops, first, understand what type of buyers are you going to target?
Ultraportables could work for you if you're dealing with professional type business people, students, females (that DO NOT
like to "tote" around a heavy 7 lb laptop!), and even retired people.
SO, WHAT IS A TABLET PC? A Tablet PC is a slate shaped or a notebook type of mobile computer. Introduced first in the early '90s by Pen
Computing, known as the PenGo Tablet Computer, later Microsoft popularized it. Because of its technology involving a hybrid
graphics tablet/screen or touchscreen, the user can operate the Tablet PC with a digital pen or stylus, or the tip of a finger,
instead of using a mouse or keyboard.
As a Mobile Broker,
you'll be able to locate/acquire/liquidate these models too. And, with the recent popularity of the Apple iPhone (we do NOT
cover Apple, as it is a first tier Vendor; but we do have access to large batches of iPhone clones, which are being released
more and more by the lower level mfgrs we work with) we see that touchscreens are very, very popular now.
TABLET PC IS A LAPTOP PC WITH MORE A FEW MORE FEATURES
A Tablet PC is a full-fledged laptop PC, plus more
features. The digitized pen can be used directly on its screen, with all the functions that can be performed by a mouse, such
as selecting, dragging and opening files, or as you would use a keyboard, to communicate and to write notes. Some Tablet PCs
are not touchscreen, hence work only with the special digital pen. Therefore, they receive information only from the tip of
the pen, and not from your finger tip or any part of your clothing, which makes it comfortable for resting your wrist on the
Tablet PC's screen in order to write naturally.
USING TABLET PCS IS EASY AND COMFORTABLE
Tablet PC is more easy and comfortable to use because instead of using the keyboard and mouse as interaction tools, you can
us the special pen to input directly on the screen. Unlike a desktop PC or a laptop computer, a Tablet PC does not require
flat surface on which to use your computer, and if you are in a meeting it does not have a vertical screen to obstruct the
view between you and the other person.
Moreover, Tablet PCs can also be used when on the move or while
standing up, which makes it perfect for any potential buyers you have waiting, who are constantly on their feet such as sales
managers, nurses, doctors, and so on.
(by the way – if you as a Mobile Device Pro decide to go
with Tablet PCs, your Trainer - myself, David Plowers, or my associate, Many McCallen – it is best to first target your
buyers, then I or Mary will write the ad copy for you (no charge) to bring out the salient features, leading to an easy sale..........
STYLES OF TABLET PCS
There are many manufacturers that produce the Tablet
PC which can differ in many aspects such as the size, the design, the processing speed, and so on, in order to meet
individual requirements. Basically, Tablet PCs are available in three styles:
The Convertible Style
Tablet PC: (see image below)This model looks a lot like a regular laptop computer because of the keyboard attached to it.
However, THE SCREEN CAN BE ROTATED BY 180 DEGREES and can be placed flat on the keyboard, which makes it better for writing
The Slate Style Tablet PC: Since this model does not have the size and weight of a permanent keyboard, IT
IS AN ULTRA-LIGHT AND SLIM DESIGN. Some slate type of Tablet PCs do have keyboards that are detachable, but all of them have
innovative solutions for docking, thus offering access to a mouse, keyboard, and a full sized monitor.
Sturdy Style Tablet PC: This is a rugged little mobile computer with a shock-proof hard drive and a shell that is of
industrial strength. These sturdy models of Tablet PCs are ideal for those who need to use their computer in rough conditions,
such as for military duty, during patrolling duties, in construction areas, or just used by people In fact, we have some Liquidation Pros in Montana and Colorado
and even New Mexico that specialize in Rugged laptops and Tablet PC laptops…they sell to oil rig workers, ranch hand foreman types, construction
workers, and other outdoor workers. We here at Computer-Brokers-USA Network initially started writing their ads for them,
but now they do all ad copy on their own. They groups of Mobile Device Brokers & Liquidation Specialists are now generating
$10,000 $20,000 and even $25,000 monthly in sales of these type categories of laptops.
Apart from including
the usual features offered by a regular laptop computer, Tablet PCs also have:
High- to mid-end processors that have been optimized for mobile computers.
Sufficient memory to suit most computing requirements.
· High storage capacity
in the hard drive.
· In-built modem for networking and wireless connectivity.
· Electronic pen that is compatible with the Tablet PC.
A digitizer screen that is compatible with the Tablet PC.
The Tablet PC
is the culminating point of the advances made in shrinking the hardware of notebooks as well as improvements in the integrated
digitizers used as input.
Typically, a digitizer comes integrated in the screen (see below image)
which correlates interaction by the digital pen or physical touch on the screen with the information displayed on it.
The digitizer in the Tablet PC is an absolute device for pointing and not a relative device for pointing like a touchpad or
a mouse. Tablet PCs are usually used in places where regular notebooks are unwieldy or impractical, or cannot provide the
There are other
different categories of laptops. UMPCs are Ultra Mobile PC (see below image) and are very portable. Because they are small,
they can take in a small touch screen, while some other models have one minute physical keyboard and a mouse interface.
The other type is Ultraportables, which are portable and the screens are less than eleven inches
and are less than 4.0 pounds (1.7 kg) weight. They are generally used by on-the-road corporate types, because they are small
and lightweight but fairly expensive.
Regarding processors are concerned, your buyers should go for the
fastest that their budget allows. They can opt for the Intel Centrino (see below image) which a lot of the 2nd and 3rd
tier mfgrs we work with are integrating into their lines, because it has a lot of speed and a good battery life. Or you can
also go to the AMD mobile processors whose performance has lagged behind Intel. If your buyers intend to watch DVDs on their
laptop we recommend a large screen for those who provide clearer, larger and larger images.
For a large system performance, it is vital to have enough memory (RAM) that will allow your buyers
to RUN MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY. Adequate RAM is also essential for the image and video editing, graphics, 3D
and gaming. Tablets typically have a terrible sound quality so it is recommended to use speakers or headphones. These are
some of the factors that you should consider before acquiring your first batch of Ultraportables.
laptops fall into a several different categories based on how and where they're used. Before you decide what type of laptop
you'll specialize in as a Mobile Broker Pro, determine how your targeted buyers will use it:
If the laptop will be their primary computer, they may want to look at midsize models because they offer the best size-to-performance
ratio of the three types.
· If the
laptop will not be their primary computer, their choices may be wider.
either case, knowing what your buyers plan to use the laptop for will help expedite the process of locating/acquiring/liquidating….and
realizing large profits.
EVALUATE YOUR BUYER'S LIFESTYLE
your buyers spend most of their day making spreadsheets? Do they often play video games in their spare time? Will they travel
frequently with their computer? These are just a few questions to ask yourself when preparing to acquire a batch for buyer
or group of buyers. Consider………
Where they'll use their laptop most: If the laptop
will remain in the same spot most of the time, you they afford to get a larger one—that is, one with a screen of at
least 15". But if they plan on bringing the laptop to and from work or just toting it around on a regular basis, then
they might want to get a smaller model.
How your buyers will use their laptop: consider what your buyers will be using the laptop for. Will they need it primarily
for work and school, to play movies and manage photos, or to play the latest video games and perform video editing?
LAPTOPS FOR WORK AND SCHOOL ONLY
If your buyers are going to use their
laptop only for work or school, they don't necessarily need one that's very powerful or has the best specs. In this case,
they would do well with EITHER AN ULTRAPORTABLE OR A MIDSIZE LAPTOP. The ultraportable would give them greater mobility options,
whereas the midsize would offer a performance boost.
LAPTOPS FOR HEAVY
If your buyers plan to use their laptop for both work and play, focus on a midsize
laptop. These offer a relatively portable package with enough power to act as an entertainment hub. If they're looking to
use their laptop for its multimedia capabilities, look for a laptop with a widescreen display. They will have more screen
space for their work, and their movies will look better too. Midsize laptops are not very big or heavy, which is why they're
so popular among consumers.
LAPTOPS FOR 3-D GAMING AND HEAVY VIDEO
If your buyers enjoy playing video games or plan on doing a lot
of other intensive tasks, such as video editing, that will tax their laptop's video and processing capabilities, they should
seriously consider getting a DESKTOP REPLACEMENT (see images below). The larger screen immerses them in the game they're
playing and makes cutting and joining video segments more manageable. Because they're capable of processing so much information,
desktop replacements tend to be expensive.
